We’re calling on all members to join our brand new Getting Healthy SummerToba Challenge, and help spread the word to your patients and community. A smile, a song, a breeze, a beach… It’s all fine in summertime! We’re channeling all the summerific vibes in for this latest Getting Healthy campaign.
What’s happening
While the Getting Healthy resource is from physicians for the public, the SummerToba Challenge is open to everyone! We strongly encourage physicians and medical learners to enter at GettingHealthy.ca.
Prizes include $5,000 worth of free groceries, two tickets to the Grey Cup, or an assortment of Getting Healthy merch.
How can you help?
Help support the SummerToba Challenge by joining and spreading the word!
- Enter at GettingHealthy.ca/summertoba. Then share with your friends and family through email and social media.
- Print this poster for your practice and encourage patients to join the challenge and take one step towards getting healthy this summer.
- Contribute! We would love to feature stories all summer about how doctors are focusing on getting healthy too. Are you being more active? Have an easy healthy recipe? Finding ways to sleep better or reduce stress? Shoot us an email at gettinghealthy@doctorsmanitoba.ca.
Why are we doing this?
It’s fun with a purpose! And it showcases physicians as the experts when it comes to health and reminds Manitobans how much you care about their well-being.
According to research commissioned by Doctors Manitoba, most Manitobans (87%) believe they aren’t doing enough or could be doing more when it comes to physical activity, eating well, improving their sleep, reducing their stress, and/or catching up on immunizations or medical screenings. Offering advice, encouragement, and incentives can help motivate people to take action towards improving their health.
Join the fight against misinformation!
- Write or review. We are looking for physicians who want to get involved with Getting Healthy to lend their expertise for both the Getting Healthy Guide articles and blog posts for the site. The advice should be evidence-based and focused on prevention or early detection. You can see some of the topics already included in our Getting Healthy Guide by typing in different age and gender combinations. Reach out at gettinghealthy@doctorsmanitoba.ca. An honorarium is provided.
- Share the word. We appreciate it when you join us in spreading the word about Getting Healthy with your patients and sharing our social media posts, even more so during our contest.
- Attend an event. We would also love to have you come out to the events with the Getting Healthy Outreach team! Join us or stop by and say hi!
