Join us in welcoming our new Getting Healthy Outreach Team for Summer 2026. Our Team includes three medical students, helping to showcase physicians’ expertise through trusted online content and in-person connections with Manitobans. We’re also looking for physician help as we fight back against misinformation and help Manitobans live longer, healthier lives.

Now in its second year, the Outreach Team features a group of dedicated first-year medical students who will be out and about at festivals, community events, and destinations across Manitoba. They’ll be introducing more people to our Getting Healthy Guide, sharing practical tips, and a new summer contest.

Meet the team!

Mark Rauhaus previously completed a Bachelor of Science Co-op at UM. Throughout his training he has gained research experience with Health Canada, CancerCare Manitoba, and UM Immunology. Mark was also a student athlete with the Bisons football team, playing until 2025. He is currently a member of the Manitoba Medical Students’ Association and previously served on the UM Athletic Council.

Natan Skladnik earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Neuroscience from the University of Winnipeg in 2024. During his first year of medical school, Natan served as President of the Class of 2029 and currently serves as the Undergraduate Medical Education student representative for the Choosing Wisely Students and Trainees Advocating for Resource Stewardship (STARS) campaign. Originally from Argentina and raised in Winnipeg, his interests in medicine include patient-centred care, medical ethics, public health, and resource stewardship.

Brian Toor earned a Bachelor of Science at the UM. He is a soccer and volleyball coach at a local high school and enjoys working with students outside the classroom. He has also contributed to research projects in the field of Medical Genetics during his training.

In addition to in-person outreach, the team will create social media content and contribute research and writing to the Getting Healthy website.

📝 Physicians wanted

We’re always looking for physicians to contribute to the Getting Healthy Guide and blog. This summer we will be focusing on topics around men’s health, menopause, pregnancy and addressing health misinformation.
