We know paperwork and excessive administrative burden is a challenge, and we need your feedback in a few areas we hope to make some progress on in the coming months: 

  • Help improve DI requisitions: We are putting together a working group of referring physicians and radiologists to help improve referrals. You can express your interest by emailing adminburden@​doctorsmanitoba.​ca. Learn more!

  • Have you completed a Disability Tax Credit renewal form? If you have completed a DTC renewal form as part of the Manitoba pilot, we invite you to share your experience by completing the short survey. The Government of Canada this week committed to streamlining the DTC application process and your participation will provide expert guidance on implementation. 

  • Employer medical forms: We’ve heard third party forms are a major frustration for physicians, and we’re working with employers on designing a one-age universal medical report. Consistency is key to reducing your burden and getting employers the right info the first time. Interested in providing feedback? Email us at adminburden@​doctorsmanitoba.​ca.

Thanks to your expert guidance, we’re also pushing improvements to referrals and consultations, eliminating sick notes with legislation currently being considered by provincial legislators, and on pushing for electronic systems that are interoperable and physician-friendly.
