National Immunization Awareness Month

August is National Immunization Awareness Month and a great time to remind patients vaccines are the best way to prevent many infectious diseases. Check out the national campaign resources from Immunize Canada.

Why it Matters

As Manitoba Health notes, vaccines have saved more lives in Canada in the last 50 years than any other medical practice. Research shows a strong recommendation from a physician is one of the most important factors in patient decision-making. Seasonal respiratory illness poses a threat to Manitobans’ health as well as hospital capacity.
