Vaccine Delivery Plan
Manitoba will begin distributing influenza and COVID-19 vaccines as soon as they become available. Timelines are dependent on manufacturers’ ability to successfully supply vaccine after receiving Health Canada approval (anticipated in September) and are estimated based on timelines identified in national vaccine contracts.
Manitoba receives less than half of its total vaccine order at the first vaccine delivery milestone in September, with the remainder being delivered over the course of the following several weeks. Providers should expect to receive their first order in two separate deliveries and should review their confirmation email to find how many doses they will receive and how these will be divided between the first and second deliveries.
Priority locations (i.e. Hospitals, First Nations Communities and Long-Term Care facilities) will receive vaccine first and will have access to weekly ordering and deliveries.
All other registered providers will be placed into one of two distribution groups and will have access to biweekly vaccine deliveries for the start of the campaign, contingent on vaccine manufacturers fulfilling their contractual obligations:
- GROUP 1: All locations with Holding Point Codes ending in 0 to 4
- GROUP 2: All locations with Holding Point Codes ending in 5 to 9

- Please return expired publicly funded vaccines according to the Vaccines and Biologics Return Policy and Procedure available at: https://www.gov.mb.ca/health/publichealth/cdc/div/docs/vbrpp.pdf
- Manitoba may receive credit for returned vaccines, and this is especially important for influenza vaccines at this time of year.
