We have opened up a special opportunity for members who are interested in insurance coverage for extended health and/​or dental. Doctors Manitoba members under age 70 can sign up for coverage until December 31, 2026.

Why it matters: Our dental and extended health insurance plans feature coverage designed by physicians. 

• 🛡️️ Extended health: prescription drugs, vision, paramedical services, emergency travel health and more. 

• 🦷 Dental: basic and major services, orthodontics for children and specialty care. 

• Because we offer insurance on a not-for-profit basis, we keep your costs low. In fact, our dental and extended health plan pricing is not increasing this year! 

You can choose either dental or extended health plans, or both. Each is priced separately. Coverage begins January 1, 2027.

Worth noting: After December 31, you can only join if you’re a new member, or within six months of you losing alternate coverage. . 

The Doctors Manitoba advantage: We offer insurance plans designed specifically for physicians: 

• Not-for-profit: We keep our costs low, and depending on the insurance plan that can often mean avoiding fee increases and, in some cases, returning surpluses back to you as a credit on future premiums. 

• We do the legwork: Our staff research and negotiate plans built for physicians. 

• Strength in numbers: About 3,000 physicians are in our insurance plans, which gives us more leverage on cost and coverage. 

Good to know: Your coverage stays with you as long as you’re a member, even if you move out of Manitoba or retire.
