Position Overview
- Join an established, fully staffed primary care clinic serving Portage la Prairie and the surrounding region.
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centred family medicine within a supportive and collegial team environment.
- Participate in the clinic’s family practice and Same Day Clinic services.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care to individuals and families across the lifespan.
- Assess, diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic health conditions.
- Provide preventive care, health education, screening and ongoing health promotion.
- Coordinate referrals and collaborate with specialists, allied health professionals and community services.
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential medical records.
- Participate in Same Day Clinic coverage
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, support staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to a respectful, inclusive and patient-focused clinic environment.
- Maintain professional, ethical and regulatory standards of practice.
Flexible Practice Opportunities
- Build a practice focused primarily on family medicine or combine clinic work with community-based care.
- Pursue additional areas of practice based on interest and availability, including:
- Emergency department care
- Hospitalist services
- Satellite clinic locations
- Personal care home coverage
- Other community-based medical services
- Establish a schedule and scope of practice that support professional interests and long-term sustainability.
Collaborative Care and My Health Team
- Work closely with the clinic’s in-house My Health Team to provide coordinated, multidisciplinary patient care.
- Access an experienced team that includes:
- Chronic disease nurse
- Sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBI) nurse
- Immunization nurse
- Prenatal nurse
- Pharmacist
- Social workers
- Skin and wound care nurse
- Mental health worker
- Chronic Disease Kinesiologist
- Access psychiatric services provided through Eden Mental Health, conveniently located in the same building.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address patients’ physical, mental and social healthcare needs.
Clinical and Administrative Support
- Work within a fully staffed clinic with comprehensive administrative and operational support, including:
- Registered nurses
- Medical team assistants
- Reception staff
- Data-entry staff
- Transcription services
- Billing support
- Access mentoring and physician support from experienced and collegial medical colleagues.

Qualifications
- Licensed, or eligible for licensure, with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
- Certification in Family Medicine or eligibility for certification through the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
- Eligible for membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
- Strong clinical, communication and collaborative skills.
