Our facility is designed for high-efficiency rural practice, featuring fully functional examination rooms, a comprehensive medical supply room, and coordinated local pharmacy access for patient convenience.

Job Description

We are seeking full-time permanent Family Physicians to provide family medicine services to the Selkirk community on both a walk-in and appointment basis. Physicians are expected to provide care in accordance with the highest standards guided by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Primary Care: Diagnosing and managing a broad range of common health conditions, physiological disorders, and injuries for patients of all ages.
  • Chronic Disease Management: Conducting routine physical examinations and ongoing care for chronic conditions.
  • Diagnostics & Prescribing: Ordering and interpreting lab tests/​diagnostic imaging and prescribing appropriate medications.
  • Preventative Health: Providing lifestyle counseling, immunizations, and community health education.
  • Clinical Records: Maintaining accurate patient records in alignment with provincial and clinic standards.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MD).
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM).
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
  • Medicolegal insurance (CMPA or equivalent) must be obtained prior to starting practice.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Check, and Adult Abuse Check required.
  • A signed 5 year Return of Service Agreement is required.
  • All professional duties will be performed in English.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Remuneration: Fee-for-service based on the existing agreement between Doctors Manitoba and Manitoba Health.
  • Overhead Split: 80/20 split (Physician retains 80%).
  • Incentive: No overhead fees for the first three (3) months of practice.
  • Benefits: Option to participate in our Group Benefits Plan (50÷50 cost-sharing) or obtain coverage through the Manitoba Medical Association. Includes extended medical, disability, and dental insurance.
