Survey of Digital Technologies by Health Care Providers
Statistics Canada is currently conducting the 2026 Survey on the Use of Digital Technologies by Health Care Providers, and we encourage those who have been randomly selected and invited to participate by Statistics Canada to complete the survey.
Why it matters: Last year’s survey showed just how behind Manitoba is when it comes to our siloed or non-existent digital systems. Taking the time to complete the survey will strengthen our advocacy for physician-friendly, integrated digital solutions.
- More than 24% of Manitoba health care providers reported facing barriers accessing electronic health information from other settings, which fell among the worst rates in the country.
E‑Fax is NOT digital sharing: Remember, as you complete the survey, electronic faxing is NOT a form of sharing patient information electronically. Your EMR might give you the option to e‑fax a req or referral, but it is still being faxed. True electronic sharing means you have a shared a patient record or you can send patient information to another clinic or facility digitally, without a fax machine.
