Spring is a time of transition, not just as the snow melts, but for many physicians opening a new chapter in their personal and professional lives, and a great time to evaluate insurance coverage to make adjustments as necessary. 

This is true especially if you are a resident about to graduate.

Your graduation provides a unique, time‑limited opportunity to increase your Disability Insurance without medical evidence. 

If you apply within 60 days of your graduation date, you can: 

• Increase your monthly disability coverage by $2,000 (instead of the usual $1,000)
• No medical or financial underwriting 
• Lock in protection as your income rises. 

Eligibility requirements:

• Under age 40 
• Continued membership with Doctors Manitoba 
• Existing Disability Insurance with Doctors Manitoba with the Future Insurance Option rider. 

This offer is available only to residents graduating in 2026. Once the 60‑day window closes, this additional $2,000 increase is no longer available.
