The CPSM’s new Quality Improvement (QI) Program is entering its second cycle this spring.

A College requirement to participate once every seven-year cycle, the program aims to:

  • Gather detailed information about physicians’ practices
  • Encourage physicians to reflect on the information gathered
  • Plan continuing professional development and on-going practice improvement

CPSM is implementing improvements based on feedback from physicians and other registrants who completed the first cycle.

  • Assessment: Participants will be asked to complete a small-scale assessment of their work, either through a chart review or multisource feedback.
  • Equivalency considered: Participation in similar work for other organizations, such as RCPSC or CFPC, will be considered for equivalency.

The QI Program is recognized by both the RCPSC and the CFPC as meeting the requirements for Assessment Category CPD credits. In meeting the assessment category CPD credits, you are able to claim your annual Doctors Manitoba $1,000 CPD Credit Rebate during your annual renewal.

What do you think? We invite you to share your feedback on the QI program. For further information or if you have any questions about the QI program, email quality@cpsm.mb.ca. Please copy practiceadvice@doctorsmanitoba.ca.
