This fall, Doctors Manitoba will launch Doctor Directory, a modern and comprehensive online directory designed by physicians, for physicians, to make referrals, consultations, and collaboration easier.

• Built to save time: The directory addresses one of physicians’ biggest administrative burdens — referrals and consultations.
• Designed for physicians: It supports both referring and consulting physicians by making it easier to find the right colleague, the first time.

The challenge: Unlike most provinces, Manitoba doesn’t have a comprehensive directory of consulting physicians. This means:

• Referring physicians often spend valuable time identifying the right consultant, learning referral requirements, or resending referrals.
• Consulting physicians frequently receive referrals outside their area of practice or with incomplete information, creating unnecessary follow-up and delays.
• The result: More administrative work, more frustration, and less time focused on patient care.

How it works: Every physician will have a profile that includes publicly available CPSM registration information in a more searchable format, plus new information about sub-specialty, areas of focus, typical wait times, and referral pathways.

• Additional information will be collected from physicians as part of the Doctors Manitoba annual membership renewal later this summer. 
• Profiles can also be updated anytime information changes.
