Getting Healthy WinterToba Challenge!
January is peak resolution season… and peak burnout season. For many Manitobans, ambitious health goals can feel unrealistic. Our new challenge reframes the conversation, helping to motivate your patients to take on step towards getting healthy this month.
What’s new: We’ve launched the WinterToba Challenge, a simple, public-facing initiative that encourages patients to commit to one small, achievable healthy action this January.
- Examples: Moving a little more, trying a nourishing meal, keeping hydrated, improving sleep, or managing stress.
- Message: Small steps count and they add up.
✨ How it works: Manitobans make a pledge to do one small thing for their health and are entered to win prizes that support healthy living. Prizes include $1,000 in free groceries, $500 in fitness gear, or cozy “Getting Healthy” winter items such as scarves, mitts, toques, and insulated mugs.
- Join the challenge: Physicians and medical learners are eligible to enter too!
🩺 Why physicians should care: GettingHealthy.ca is a public resource that showcases physician expertise while helping your patients take steps to prevent disease and adopt healthy choices. The WinterToba campaign:
- Normalizes realism: Counters the all-or-nothing mindset that often derails January goals
- Aligns with care: Reinforces preventive health without adding pressure or guilt
- Encourages sustainable small steps: Offers simple, accessible ways to Get Healthy
