As Manitoba responds to severe floods, wildfires and other extreme weather events this summer, we will do our best to keep physicians updated with a particular focus on how these events impact on health care delivery. Parkland Flooding: Prairie Mountain Health is issuing updates on Wednesdays at this link. We encourage physicians to bookmark this page for the latest official updates. 

Doctors Manitoba is compiling a list of physicians from around Manitoba who may be able to assist in the region if needed. Please fill out this form, letting us know your name, contact information, specialty, and the type of help you can offer and when. If the need arises, we will be in touch with further information.

Latest Updates

July 23, 2026

• All Dauphin and area patients receiving cancer treatments will be contacted directly with instructions on their continuing care. Services previously provided at the CancerCare Clinic in the Dauphin Regional Health Centre have moved to new locations, some within Dauphin, and some in other communities
• Physician appointments in Oncology will continue locally and treatments will be arranged at other community cancer programs within Prairie Mountain Health. Updates are available directly from Prairie Mountain Health at prairiemoun​tain​health​.ca.
• Emergency Department care options for Dauphin and area include: Ste. Rose General Hospital Emergency Department: open 24/7. Please call 204−447−2131 to confirm and Grandview Health Centre Emergency Department, open 7 days a week, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please call 2204−546−2425 to confirm.
• Prairie Mountain Health and Shared Health are working to restore blood draws, X‑ray and ECG services in a temporary Dauphin location while repairs are underway.
  
• Crews are pressure washing flood-affected areas and removing contents from the basement. Timelines for recovery are expected to become clearing in the coming weeks.
  

July 9, 2026

• Flood recovery in Parkland remains highly dynamic. Prairie Mountain Health officials are trying to keep staff and physicians up to date on Dauphin Flood Staff Updates page. 

• Dauphin Hospital is expected to be closed for ​“months,” though engineers and officials are still completing a comprehensive assessment of the building and infrastructure. 

• Programs and service areas may re-open with a staggered or phased approach, as repairs are completed and spaces are deemed safe and operational.

July 3, 2026

• Severe flooding in Dauphin, Swan River and the Parkland region forced the evacuation of Dauphin Regional Health Centre this week.
• A local state of emergency is underway and Dauphin Regional Health Centre, including the emergency department, is closed until further notice.
• 54 Dauphin Regional Health Centre patients were evacuated Wednesday, including one infant.
• All surgeries and endoscopy procedures were cancelled for seven days from Wednesday. 
• All X‑ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI and lab appointments have been cancelled until further notice.
• Prairie Mountain Health is directing patients to these options for care in the area.

June 11, 2026
