Call for Physician Examiners
The University of Manitoba’s Clinicians Assessment Program is looking to recruit Physician Examiners for a high stakes examination on 3 upcoming dates.
The program will be holding a sitting of the National Assessment Collaboration OSCE on behalf of the Medical Council of Canada, on the following days:
- Saturday, May 2, 2026
- Saturday, September 19, 2026
- Sunday, September 20, 2026
Physician Examiners will be renumerated for their assistance with the assessment. In addition to the renumeration, the work completed as a Physician Examiner will also be eligible for Mainpro+/MOC Credits upon completion.
To be deemed eligible to complete work as an examiner, you must meet the following criteria:
- Physicians must meet ALL of the Common Recruitment Requirements for all MCC Exams.
- Physicians must have the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) and must provide their LMCC registration number.
- Physicians who DO NOT have their LMCC will be accepted as examiners under the following conditions:
- Non-licentiate examiners must be faculty members (e.g., faculty lecturer, assistant professor, associate professor, or professor)
AND - Non-licentiate examiners must be certified by one of the following organizations and must provide their certification number:
o Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
o Collège des Médecins du Québec (CMQ)
o College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
AND - Non-licentiate examiners must sign a waiver indicating that they have no intention of taking the NAC examination.
- Non-licentiate examiners must be faculty members (e.g., faculty lecturer, assistant professor, associate professor, or professor)
- Physicians must have recent experience supervising clerks and/or PGY1s, and/or they must have experience as an examiner at this level of training.
- Physicians may be community physicians (i.e., they do not need to be faculty members if all other criteria are met).
- Physicians must be currently practising medicine in Canada; if they are a resident physician, they must be PGY3 or higher OR have CCFP certification at the time of the examination.
- If retired, physicians must be within three years of practising in Canada.
A mandatory online orientation will need to be completed prior to the exam day.
On exam day, a light continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
