Brisk Day, Big Drives, Bigger Impact
More than 100 golfers teed off at the stunning Southwood Golf and Country Club for the 3rd annual Doctors Manitoba Getting Healthy Golf Tournament earlier this week. The course was in great condition, and while the weather brought a brisk breeze, it didn’t cool enthusiasm on the greens.
The Winners
From seasoned pros to enthusiastic amateurs, golfers of all skill levels came together for a day of friendly competition, camaraderie, and community impact. After a full day of play, a team including Dr. Gerry Visser, Dr. Jan Roux, Dr. Corne Vlock and Dr. Darrin Nichol claimed the win.
Giving Back
The fun didn’t stop at the fairways. Along the course, participants were treated to interactive games, generous giveaways, and plenty of prizes. Refreshments and snacks kept everyone energized, while lunch and dinner provided more time to reconnect with colleagues and make new connections.
This year’s tournament wasn’t just about golf; it was also about giving back. Pro golfer Brett White joined us for a new “Donate to Drive” initiative, where his powerful swings raised more than $3,000 for the Child Nutrition Council of Manitoba, supporting vital school meal programs across the province.

Proceeds from the event continue to support Doctors Manitoba’s Getting Healthy initiative providing Manitobans with expert physician advice to prevent disease and live longer, healthier lives.
