Great work deserves to be recognized. Across Manitoba, physicians are finding new ways to care for patients, strengthen their communities and improve our health care system. Help us celebrate them.

The Doctors Manitoba annual awards are the highest honour in the Manitoba medical community, awarded to physicians by physicians. We are asking you to recognize the outstanding contributions of a colleague by nominating them for an award.

Why it matters: ​“Every day, physicians across Manitoba are finding ways to make care better and more accessible for their patients,” said Dr. Heather Diamond, Chair of the Doctors Manitoba Awards Committee. ​“We want to hear about those physicians — the ones making a difference in big ways and small — and help celebrate what they have accomplished.”

• Five award categories include Physician of the Year, Distinguished Service, Resident of the Year, the Dr. Jack Armstrong Humanitarian Award, and the Doctors Manitoba Medal of Excellence.
• Spotlight this year in improving access to care. Achievements in all areas of medicine are welcome, with a special spotlight this year on physicians making meaningful, lasting improvements to how Manitobans access care. This could include innovative approaches to strengthening continuous, comprehensive care, reducing wait times, improving coordination across the health system, reaching underserved communities, expanding rural or northern services, or finding sustainable solutions to barriers that prevent patients from getting the care they need.
