While only 6% of physicians in Manitoba are currently using AI scribes, according to our Annual Physician Survey, another 56% are interested in trying one. Physicians report spending 12 hours per week on charting on average, and many have reported that an AI scribe can cut down their documentation time by 30 – 60 minutes per day. However, we know there are many barriers to getting started, such as navigating regulatory rules, understanding EMR integration, and comparing products.

We are working to make this easier for you.

First, Doctors Manitoba is working on an AI Playbook to help physicians navigate the options, requirements, and how to get started.

Second, we are making national connections too. Canada Health Infoway has launched the first phase of a new AI Scribe Program, a national pilot that will provide up to 10,000 eligible primary care clinicians with a fully funded one-year license for an AI-powered documentation tool. While enrollment is not yet opened, you can sign up here to learn more about the national program and be informed when enrollment opens.
