On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, over 100 golfers participated in the 3^rd annual Doctors Manitoba Getting Healthy Golf Tournament. The weather was a bit blustery, but our hardy golfers made the most of a great day on the beautiful Southwood Golf and Country Club course. Golfers of every calibre competed for the grand prize, with Dr. Darrin Nichol, Dr. Jan Roux, Dr. Gerry Visser, and Dr. Corne Vlok taking home the trophy with a score of 11 under par.

As always, there were fun games, giveaways, snacks, beverages or prizes at every hole. Members were able to connect with colleagues during lunch and dinner, included as part of the tournament experience. 

Our Getting Healthy summer outreach team joined us, to promote the program and meet members. On the 15^th hole, golfers were given the opportunity to use golf pro Brett White’s drive for a donation to the Child Nutrition Council of Manitoba. With collected donations and a donation from Doctors Manitoba, we were able to raise $3,290 dollars.

All proceeds from our annual golf tournament go to supporting the Getting Healthy public awareness initiative created by Doctors Manitoba, offering expert advice from physicians to help Manitobans prevent disease and live a longer, healthier life.
