Osborne Village Medical Center provides care for the people of downtown Winnipeg and surrounding areas. Our facility has fully functional examination rooms, a fully equipped medical supply room, and an onsite pharmacy for patient convenience.
Job Description:
We are looking for three (3) full-time permanent Family Physicians to provide family medicine services to the community on a walk-in basis and by appointment. The Family Physicians will be required to provide family medicine services in accordance with the highest standards of the medical profession and as guided by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. They will be expected to perform all duties associated with family medicine services, including:
- Providing comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages – diagnosing, treating, and managing a broad range of common health conditions, disease, physiological disorders and injuries.
- Conducting physical examinations, routine check-ups, and chronic disease management.
- Prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting lab tests and diagnostic imaging.
- Providing preventive health education, immunizations, and lifestyle counselling.
- Maintaining accurate patient records in accordance with clinic and provincial standards.
We have two locations, Osborne Village Medical Center located at 5 – 433 River Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 2V1, as well as Beausejour Guardian Clinic located at: 635 Park Avenue, Beausejour, Manitoba, R0E 0C0. The Family Physicians will be required to work Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm at Osborne Village Medical Centre (35 hours per week). While not mandatory, the Family Physicians will also have the option to pick up additional evening or weekend shifts at either location.
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required:
- Medical Degree
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
- Prior to starting practice, required to obtain medicolegal insurance with the Canadian Medical Protective Association, or with another carrier at their expense.
- Must provide Criminal record check, Child and Adult abuse check prior to starting practice.
- A signed 5‑year Return of Service Agreement is required.
- All duties will be performed in English.
Compensation:
Remuneration will be fee-for-service based on the existing agreement between Doctors Manitoba and Manitoba Healthy Living and Senior (MHHLS). The physician will be expected to manage an average caseload of 120 patients per week, with projected annual compensation of approximately CAD$360,000.
No overhead fees will be charged for the first six (6) months; a competitive overhead rate will apply thereafter.
Benefits:
The Family Physicians will have the option of participating in our Group Benefits Plan on a 50/50 cost-sharing basis, or may opt-out and alternatively obtain coverage through the Doctors Manitoba. Our Group Benefits Plan currently provides coverage of extended medical, disability, and dental insurance.
