Description
The WRHA is seeking qualified physicians to provide care in one or more of the Urgent Care Centers in Winnipeg. These acute care facilities serve diverse ambulatory and inpatient populations that are attached to the facilities of the Victoria, Concordia and Seven Oaks Hospitals.
Physicians at these sites have access to the full spectrum of diagnostic testing including phlebotomy/XR/CT and US and are expected to also provide resuscitation capacity for the inpatient populations of these hospitals.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in Emergency Medicine by either the Canadian College of Family Physicians or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred.
- Candidates will be required to demonstrate experience in an urgent care/emergency department setting, and will be expected to provide efficient acute care for a mix of low and moderate acuity patients, with occasional critical care stabilization.
- In the absence of Emergency Medicine certification, current credentialing in ACLS/ATLS/PALS/POCUS and procedural sedation will be considered.
Compensation:
Remuneration is based on the Manitoba Community Emergency Medicine Agreement and includes medical, dental and holiday benefits. A commitment to work days, afternoons, evenings and nights is required; and a probationary period will apply.
