The Misericordia Minor Injury and Illness Clinic is episodic care with referral back to the patient’s FP for ongoing care. The hours are flexible and the shift types and lengths can be seen below:

• Shift 1 morning 0730 – 1300 
• Shift 2 afternoon 1300 – 1700 
• Shift 3 evening 1700 – 2220 

Sign up will be month by month and physicians can provide as much or as little availability as suits them via Metric Aid. 

Appointments will be made online. Appointments will be 15 minutes long.

Physician pay will be fee for service with a guaranteed minimum hourly rate which will vary depending on the time of day and day of the week. Fee for service billings and the hourly rate are subject to a 12.5% overhead deduction. 

The top up is guaranteed for 6 months after the clinic opens (August 10, 2025). The clinic is intended to switch over to a pure fee for service model after 6 months.

MIIC staff will include an RN for each shift and one assistant for each doctor working at any given time. Point of care tests will include urinalysis, pregnancy tests, hemoglobin and white blood cell count. Physicians will not pay for staff or supplies except for the overhead fee mentioned above. Billing service for physicians is also included in the overhead charge.
