Description 

Bison Family Medical Clinic Inc, operating as Bison Family Medical Clinic provides both Family Practice and Walk-In style medical services through several locations in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They currently have openings for six (6) qualified Family Physicians to share in practice with medical specialists in Manitoba’s largest city. 

The Family Physician will work from one main location but need to cover the other locations in Winnipeg as needed. 

Bison Family Medical Clinics have modern equipment, knowledgeable staff, and full electronic medical records systems. Our dual focus has been to help our physicians build their practices while at the same time running a successful walk-in service.

Work Locations:

1035 Gateway Road, Winnipeg (2 vacancies) 

1578 Regent Avenue West, Winnipeg (2 vacancies) 

80 Bison Drive, Winnipeg (1 vacancy) 

1686 Pembina Hwy, Winnipeg (1 vacancy) 

All main locations will have the other locations as secondary work locations.

• Type of Work: Full time permanent position

Clinic Hours and Walk-in Service: Mon-Fri. 8 am- 8 pm. Saturday 10am-6pm, Sundays 10 – 3 and holidays closed 

Hourly Salary or Annual Salary: Fee for Service — between CAD$ 260,000 and 450,000 annually 

Unpaid vacation: 1 month per year 

Main Duties:

• Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X‑rays and other diagnostic procedures and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health
• Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
• Provide emergency care
• Provide acute care management
• Vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseasesAdvise patients and their families on health care including health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention
• Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
• Perform patient advocacy role
• Co-ordinate or manage primary patient care
• Provide continuous care to patients
• Report births, deaths, and contagious and other diseases to governmental authorities
• Willing to cover other physicians at other Bison Family Medical Clinic locations within the city of Winnipeg 

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM)
• Must be a member in good standing with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
• Canadian College of Family Physicians (CCFP) preferred
