Try the QI Workbook

Every clinic has its own personality. Some have long-standing teams with deep roots, while others are newer and still finding their rhythm. What they all have in common is the push and pull between wanting to improve and simply trying to keep up.
Between patient care, documentation, and team check-ins, carving out space for continuous quality improvement (QI) can feel unrealistic. Yet, it is the key to solving the very issues that slow us down, like delays in access, unclear workflows, and misaligned roles.
To help teams foster their sense of curiosity about how things can improve in an environment where time is often limited, we have put together a practical QI workbook. This workbook is designed to walk your team through identifying an access-related issue, exploring possible root causes, and crafting a change idea, all in an informal setting.
From there, you’ll use multiple PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) cycles to test and refine your approach, one step at a time. Should you require further assistance while using this tool, a clinical practice facilitator remains available to provide guidance and support when needed.
If you’re ready to learn more about the QI workbook or if you would like to develop a deeper understanding of QI, change management, and how to improve team functioning through the Access Improvement Model (AIM) program, please send an email to aim@sharedhealthmb.ca or visit the AIM website.
