ManitobaVaccine.ca provides answers and help for people considering a COVID-19 vaccine

Doctors Manitoba has launched a new online resource to help answer common questions about the COVID-19 vaccines.

We created ManitobaVaccine.ca to help everyone learn more about the COVID vaccines, when and where they can get immunized, and the option to get notified when they become eligible,” said Dr. Cory Baillie, President of Doctors Manitoba. These are new vaccines for a new disease, so it’s natural to have questions.”

Many Manitobans have been asking if the new vaccines are safe, how they work, and when it will be their turn to get the shot. The new online vaccine resource, ManitobaVaccine.ca, provides facts about the vaccines from a trusted source.

The new site offers answers and several helpful features, including:

  • Facts about the vaccines in Canada and answers to common questions,
  • An eligibility checker to find when someone will become eligible, and get notified when they do, and
  • Information about where to get immunized.

The new resource also aims to reassure Manitobans the new vaccines are safe and effective.

Physicians trust and support the approved COVID-19 vaccines,” said Dr. Kristjan Thompson, President-Elect of Doctors Manitoba and an emergency medicine specialist. I’ve seen too many Manitobans, of all ages, coming to the ER very sick with COVID-19. Now we have vaccines that are highly effective at preventing severe illness, hospitalization and death. Doctors recommend nearly all Manitobans get immunized as soon as they become eligible.”

Manitobans can also sign up for updates about the vaccines and submit new questions for a team of physicians to respond to on the site.
