We’re turning to the guiding theme chosen by Doctors Manitoba President Dr. Randy Guzman: Connection is Protection again during what may be a difficult stretch of time for many.

WHY IT MATTERS: Checking in on family, friends and colleagues is an important part of staying connected. Just as crucial is checking in with yourself.

  • Whether or not the timing of Blue Monday” and Let’s Talk Day” is guided by any real evidence, there are many reasons January is a good time to focus on connection and mental well-being: post-holiday blues, New Year’s resolution pressure, the frigid and isolating weather and limited daylight, just to name a few.
  • Whatever the reason, it is a good time to pause and assess how you and others around you are doing.

HOW TO GET HELP: If you are feeling a sense of distress, you are not alone and there are resources to support you. If you see signs of distress in your colleagues, check in, listen, ask considerate questions, and follow up.

Our Doc360 supports are available to all of our members and their immediate families. These innovative tools and additional information may also help:
