We have heard from dozens of hospital-based physicians frustrated by the new online attestation requirement to maintain their privileges. For some, the move to an online portal with a new log-in has been a challenge, and for others the Shared Health / RHA requirement for annual attestation is not familiar, suggesting it has been unevenly applied across hospitals.

We have shared your frustrations with Shared Health’s Medical Administration Office, and this week they have acknowledged the challenges and offered flexibility in the following ways:

  • Extending the deadline to March 20th from the original deadline of December 312025
  • Offering more help for physician to get set up and complete the attestation this year.
  • Agreeing to skip the annual attestation process that would normally have started this fall.
  • Expressing an openness to exploring a less onerous hybrid approach with CPSM who asks similar questions.

What this means for physicians with RHA hospital privileges is that you must still complete what is supposed to be an annual process required under medical staff by-laws, but you have until March 20 to do so. Additional help is available, which you can request by emailing the following contacts for support:

Our advocacy has been, and will continue to be, guided by your concerns and experience, so please continue to share them with us, in confidence, by emailing practiceadvice@doctorsmanitoba.ca.
