The concept of Quality Improvement” (QI) often feels like an administrative burden in the current primary care landscape. Attempts at improving an established process or inefficiency naturally take a backseat to survival when you are managing large and complex patient panels and navigating operational hurdles (e.g. staff shortages). Asking you to work on the system while you are drowning in the system is a heavy request.

That tension is exactly why Shared Health’s Quality, Performance & Strategy needs your voice. While offering a number of QI-related supports to primary care teams, we suspect these learning models may not fit every clinic’s reality. As a result, we have developed a brief survey to explore three critical areas:

  1. Perception: How do you and your team view QI in daily practice?
  2. Hurdles/challenges: What are the factors limiting engagement in QI
  3. Solutions: What support(s) or incentives would move QI from a task” to a useful tool”?

Your feedback will directly shape plans as we seek to provide new and improved ways to engage with primary care teams and their pursuit of (ongoing) QI. The survey is open to everyone working in your clinic, so we kindly ask that you share the survey link with your colleagues. Ultimately, we want to ensure solutions that match your needs and the only way we can only do that is with your help.
