A Life of Service
Today, we learned of the loss of the Honourable Murray Sinclair (Mizhana Gheezhik — the One Who Speaks of Pictures in the Sky). We offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to his family and the many friends and colleagues he inspired and will deeply mourn his loss.
We also offer our heartfelt gratitude for his commitment to Reconciliation, as the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Chair and his service as a judge and senator. Sinclair said “I am always guided by the sense of responsibility to family and to community. Everything I’ve ever done in my life has been about that question: ‘What is it that I can do to help our family, our community to be safer?’”
As an organization with an unwavering commitment to a healthier future for everyone, we note his important role in the pediatric cardiac inquest, one that led to greater measures of safety for patients across the country.
We honour his legacy and feel a deep sadness with his passing. His generosity of spirit and service will be remembered across generations.
