Doctors Manitoba collects expanded demographic information from members including about race, ethnicity and Indigenous identity. Participation is optional. This came about from member requests to have more diverse options, and our desire to better understand serious issues affecting the profession like burnout and mistreatment. Additionally, in 2023, the membership voted to require Doctors Manitoba to report back the personal attributes of the Board of Directors and committees to ensure they are representative of the membership.

Doctors Manitoba uses this data to influence advocacy priorities, programming decisions, and Medical District election outreach. All data is anonymized and stored on secure local servers with robust cyber-security measures. Access to member data is limited to authorized staff who have received training in data security and use, and privacy and confidentiality. Doctors Manitoba commits to never using or publishing data which could identify individual members.

If you have questions or concerns about Doctors Manitoba’s obligations with respect to your use of member data, or any of the information you have provided to us, you may contact our Privacy Officer at 2049855860 or privacy@doctorsmanitoba.ca.
