In your professional life, you may want to make meaningful change at work, develop skills for working with different personality types, and find ways to engage yourself and your colleagues. This work begins with self-awareness. 

Doctors Manitoba supports strong physician leadership in all areas of practice, and at every stage of your career whether you’re interested in a formal position of leadership, looking for opportunities to strengthen your advocacy, or want to inspire improvements through your practice. 

In this course, you will begin to develop personal insights that will help shape your leadership development plan. 

Learning objectives: At the end of the course you will be able to: 

  • Recognize the critical importance of personal mastery as a foundation for effective physician leadership. 
  • Achieve a more complete view of yourself as a leader – with respect to your personal values and principles, personality style, emotional intelligence and strengths. 
  • Develop strategies to leverage your strengths and manage your limitations. 
  • Establish a professional development action plan that includes setting personal leadership goals.

We welcome applications from all practicing physicians. Applicants in their first 5 years of practice will be prioritized for this course. Course requires time commitment of 3 – 4 hours of self-led activities, and a 1‑hour facilitated online weekly session.
