Doctors Manitoba is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Digital and Communications Producer to join our team. This new role is ideal for someone passionate about digital communications, organizational coordination, and helping us achieve our communications goals. This role plays a key part in ensuring our communications reach with our members, stakeholders, and the broader public. You will work closely with our in-house communications team, including the Director and the leads for writing, content creation, and graphic design, to bring content to life across various digital platforms, including web, email marketing, and social media. You will also take the lead on producing new content and functions in our web-based member portal.

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Communications

  • Serve as the in-office expert on digital tools and platforms, including web content production, email marketing, and social media.
  • Develop, produce, and post web content, including webpages, interactive forms, and updates to the member portal.
  • Lead the production and timely distribution of weekly member newsletters and occasional public newsletters, ensuring brand standards and deadlines are met.
  • Manage social media scheduling and posting, following established content plans, and provide tracking metrics for social media performance.
  • Collaborate with internal database leads to integrate email marketing and member portal with current member contact information.
  • Train and support staff on basic web posting and email marketing functions.

Communications Coordination

  • Act as the point person for internal stakeholders needing communications support.
  • Intake communications requests, ensuring they are documented, tracked, and assigned in consultation with the Director, with clear leads and deadlines.
  • Track progress on communications projects through to completion, helping the team stay organized and meet deadlines.

Calendar Management

  • Oversee and maintain the communications and corporate calendar, ensuring key events and member communications are tracked and aligned with the organization’s overall engagement strategy.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree or diploma in communications, marketing, digital media, project management, or a related field.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a similar role, either in-house or with a creative agency.
  • Advanced web and digital content management skills, including basic understanding of HTML, database structure, and relevant digital tools (e.g., email marketing, web content entry, social media, etc.).
  • Proficiency in email marketing tools and social media platforms. Doctors Manitoba currently uses:
    • Email: Constant Contact, SendGrid
    • Social media: Scheduling through Loomly with presence on META, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.). 
  • Familiarity with content strategy and project management methodology.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail, adaptability, and creativity in executing communications projects.
  • Familiarity with Manitoba system and medical communications trends is an asset.

Work Environment

Typical working conditions include daytime hours and the occasional weekend and evening work. In-office, hybrid or remote work options may be considered.
