Financial Support for Physicians, Learners, Retired Physicians and Family Members

Whether you are a practicing physician, medical learner, retired physician, or the family member of a physician, these are challenging times. The continually changing information can be hard to navigate. To help you access information about financial services and supports that are relevant to your unique circumstances, Doctors Manitoba has compiled a list of frequently updated and reliable resources.

Information Navigation

The Canadian Medical Association has commissioned MNP, a national accounting and tax firm, to provide and regularly update a detailed analysis of current federal assistance programs and how they can be leveraged by physicians. Scroll to their “Website Dashboard” for information about how the specific federal subsidies relate to various employment structures.

MD Financial has also developed, and regularly updates, a roundup of federal support measures relevant to medical students and residents, practicing physicians, retired physicians, and family members. They also have information about specific supports developed by each province, including Manitoba.

Doctors Manitoba has developed a guide to support physicians as employers, including several FAQs about supporting employees and income stabilization.
