Dr. Pawel Garda 1st Annual Memorial Golf Tournament
Honouring Dr. Pawel Garda: A Legacy of Resilience, Compassion, and Hope
The Dr. Pawel Garda Memorial Golf Tournament was established in 2025 to honour the life and memory of our dear friend, who tragically passed away in October 2024. Pawel’s life was one of resilience — overcoming adversity in his youth with the help of a bursary to attend St. Paul’s High School, where he met the Woodward family who welcomed him into their home and helped shape his future. Driven by his empathy and commitment, Pawel found success in his early medical career and was accepted into a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Manitoba. Through his work, he earned admiration as a compassionate physician and dedicated colleague.
This tournament is a tribute to the joy and connection Pawel brought into our lives — and a way to carry forward his legacy. Proceeds from this year’s event will go toward the Dr. Pawel Garda ‘13 Memorial Bursary Fund at St. Paul’s High School, to support students who, like Pawel, need a helping hand to reach their potential. Once the bursary is fully funded, future tournament proceeds will support local mental health initiatives, addressing the silent struggles that Pawel and many others face.
The 2025 tournament will be held at the beautiful St. Boniface Golf Course on Tuesday, July 29th. Join us for a four-person scramble with a shotgun start, lunch and dinner for all participants, plus raffle prizes and exciting hole games throughout the day. Registration is now open, and we welcome anyone interested in becoming a sponsor to contact the organizing team directly.
Let’s come together to celebrate Pawel’s legacy with a day filled with connection, fun, and creating opportunity and support for others!
